Transport Canada has published recall 2026506 covering certain 2015–2026 Kalmar Ottawa T2 terminal tractors. Damaged circuit-board insulation could cause an electrical short and increase fire risk—even when the truck is parked and switched off.
The notice was published October 20, 2026, and updated October 23.
What should owners do?
Until recall repairs are completed, Kalmar advises owners to:
Park affected trucks outdoors, away from buildings and other vehicles.
Lock the battery disconnect switch in the off position when the truck is not in use.
If no disconnect switch is fitted, disconnect the negative cables from the low-voltage batteries.
What does the recall repair involve?
Kalmar will notify owners by mail and direct them to a dealership. The repair involves adding a ground stud to correct the wiring and installing a 5-amp inline fuse to protect the circuit board.
Where can owners check the official details?
The notice applies to certain trucks, not automatically every Ottawa T2 within the listed model years.
